Joined the Windom Volunteer Fire Company in 1972.  At the time of his joining the Company he worked in various roles as an officer, and ending his career as Chief of the Company. in 1992.  

Bill also served as a second Vice-President of the Southtowns Haz-Mat team and he was involved in the training side of firefighting, Bill is a National Certified Instructor, a New York State Certified Instructor, and an Erie County Fire-training Instructor.

In addition to his Vice-Presidency, and Instructor training, in 2002, Bill was first elected to the Board of Fire Commissioners 2005 and re-elected in 2007 . Bill is presently serving his second term of office on the Board of Fire Commissioners as Chairman.  Besides being the Chairman of the board, Bill also is the Orchard Park Fire District’s training officer; a member of the District Rapid Intervention team and finally, Bill is a Life Member of the Windom Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Erie County Fire Advisory Board.
